Description of the Honeycomb Echo Aviation Controller

A full flight sim setup usually means a yoke bolted to your desk, a throttle quadrant beside it, and pedals under it — three devices, a tangle of cables, and a room you can't use for anything else. Most people never get past the first purchase.

The Echo Aviation Controller collapses all three into one handheld unit. Pitch, roll and yaw, elevator trim, flaps, speed brakes, throttle, propeller and mixture, gear position and parking brake — every primary and secondary control is on the device, laid out where your thumbs and fingers already are. A 16-bit Hall-Effect thumb stick gives you smooth, drift-free inputs, and the mechanically linked rudder pedal bumpers let you actually coordinate a turn instead of faking it.

Four detented slider levers handle engine management, with interchangeable caps so the same controller reads as general aviation or commercial depending on what you're flying. Run it wired over USB-C or cut the cord entirely — the 2.4 GHz dongle and a 1200 mAh battery give you up to 15 hours from the couch.

A conventional setup splits your controls across a yoke, a throttle quadrant and a set of pedals. The Echo puts primary flight controls, trim and secondary surfaces, engine management, gear and brakes onto a single console-style unit — so nothing has to be bolted to a desk before you can fly.

Before you buy

Does it work on Xbox or PS5?
No. The Echo is a PC and Mac device only. It is not compatible with Xbox or PlayStation 5.
Which simulators does it support?
Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane 11 and 12, and Prepar3D. Honeycomb publishes button-mapping guides and preferred configurations for general aviation aircraft and two-engine jets.
Does it replace a yoke, throttle quadrant and pedals?
For most home setups, yes. Pitch, roll, yaw, trim, flaps, speed brakes, throttle, propeller, mixture, gear and parking brake are all on the unit. Full-size hardware still wins on realism and travel, but the Echo covers every input in a fraction of the space.
Will the thumb stick drift over time?
The stick uses 16-bit Hall-Effect sensing, which reads position magnetically rather than through a physical contact. There is no wiper to wear out, which is what causes drift on conventional potentiometer sticks.
What is the difference between the two sets of lever caps?
The general aviation caps mimic the shape and color coding of a light aircraft throttle quadrant. The commercial caps are shaped for airliner-style thrust levers. They swap by hand in seconds.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 15 hours on the 1200 mAh internal battery. You can also run it wired over USB-C indefinitely, which charges it at the same time.
Do I need the dongle, or does it use Bluetooth?
Wireless runs on the included 2.4 GHz dongle, not Bluetooth. Keep the dongle with the controller — the travel case has a spot for it.
What is the warranty?
Honeycomb covers the Echo with a 2-year limited warranty.
